I actually learned something from Chris Matthews today. That doesn't happen too often; "Tweety" is someone I really don't respect and I don't watch too often. But I had his show on today in the kitchen while I was making dinner. It makes good background noise, I guess. And Matthews said this:
"Is anyone planning over at the RNC? McCain's speech, the final night of the convention, happens on NFL kickoff weekend! Is anyone going to be watching?"
(Posted also over at Kos. Where this idea went down like a lead brick. What do you all think?)
Now, I've been as guilty as some with snide, nasty comments against Hillary. In anger, I've spewed some terrible stuff, and for that, I'm really embarrassed and sorry. It's hard reading some of that stuff with the benefit of hindsight. It only proves that I don't have the thick skin necessary to succeed in politics.
So today, I'm saying "Thank you, Hillary. Thank you for a perfect speech kicking off the General Election."
And I'm also starting the Draft Clinton movement. But it might not be what you think--follow below the fold.
